Pune: IGU Western India Junior Boys Golf Championship Held At Poona Golf Club

Yerwada, 2nd November 2021: The Indian Golf Union concluded its Zonal Event of the Amateur Junior Boys Golf Tour at the Poona Golf Club.

The Junior Boys tour includes boys in the 11-17 years age group who play under 3 different categories:

11-12 year-olds play under category C
13-14 year-olds play under category B
15-17 year-olds play under category A

The golf course was under great condition and provided an excellent challenge and fair test of talent for the youngsters.

On the first day, Krishnav Nikhil Chopra scored a 3-under-par 67 to take a 5-shot lead over local boy Aryaman Singh. However, windy conditions strong lead. However, windy conditions on the second day saw Shat Mishra close in on the lead with a steady even-par score.

As the event progressed, the leaderboard became crowded with the top 10 players within 9 shots of the leader, even as Shat Mishra took the lead.

The final day say saw a strong fight among the leader group. Krishnav scored an eagle on the final hole to force a 3-way play-off for the top prize.

Shat Mishra held his nerve for two holes of play-off to win the event.

Among the C category boys, Karthik Singh emerged the decisive winner by 4 shots over with Arshvant finishing runner-up and Neil Jolly finishing second runner-up.

Aarav Shah won the B category event. Suhaan Imtiaz Shaikh took the runner-up spot and Aryaman Singh took the 3rd spot.
