New Delhi, 2nd November 2021: After the ICC T20 World Cup, the T20 International series is to be played between India and New Zealand. After the T20 World Cup, Virat Kohli has already announced to leave the captaincy from this format.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is thinking of letting some senior players rest from the T20 series against New Zealand, so Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, and Virat Kohli can rest and the command of the team will be handed over to KL Rahul. Rahul has captained the Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The senior players haven’t been able to get a break in the last few months. From the Test series against England to the T20 World Cup, Team India is playing cricket continuously. A senior BCCI official said, “Senior players need some breathing time. There is no denying that KL Rahul is an integral part of the T20 format. It is possible that he may be handed over the captaincy.”

A three-match T20 International series is to be played between India and New Zealand from November 17 to November 21. The first match of the series is to be played on 17 November in Jaipur, the second match on 19 November in Ranchi, and the third match on 21 November in Kolkata.

After this, a two-match Test series is to be played between the two teams. During the series to be played between India and New Zealand, fans will also be allowed to come to the stadium. India has lost the T20 World Cup against New Zealand by eight wickets.
