Pimpri, 22nd January 2024: The Anti-Terrorism Cell of the Crime Branch, in collaboration with Nigdi Police, apprehended five illegal Bangladeshi nationals at Ankush Chowk in Nigdi. The arrests took place after a thorough investigation revealed that three of the accused had obtained passports from Goa using forged documents.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Rocky Samor Barua (28 years old), Jaydhan Ameeron Barua (28 years old), Ankur Susen Barua (26 years old), Ratul Shelfon Barua (28 years old), and Rana Nandan Barua (25 years old), all hailing from Chittagong, Bangladesh. However, Jiku Das, also known as Joy Chaudhary from Chandannagar, Pune, is currently at large.

Suyog Lande, a police constable from the anti-terrorist cell, filed a complaint at the Nigdi police station, shedding light on the accused individuals’ illegal activities. The Bangladeshi nationals reportedly created Aadhaar cards through fake birth certificates and other forged documents. They resided in a chawl at Sainathnagar in Nigdi, where they changed the address on their Aadhaar cards to reflect Pune.

The investigation further revealed that three of the accused successfully obtained passports from Goa using counterfeit documents, while the process of procuring passports for the other two was still underway. Acting swiftly upon this information, the anti-terrorist cell conducted a raid, resulting in the arrest of the five individuals involved in these illicit activities.
