Pune: Illegal Hair Treatment, Transplant Clinic Busted In Viman Nagar; Three Bogus Doctors Arrested For Duping Over 300 Customers

Viman Nagar, 4th December 2021: The officials from Crime Branch unit 4 of Pune city police have busted an illegal hair treatment and transplant clinic which was operating in Viman Nagar. Three bogus doctors have been arrested for allegedly cheating over 300 customers.

According to police, the accused were operating Hair Magica Hair Transplant and Aesthetic Studio in Sky Max Mall near Dutta Mandir Chowk in Viman Nagar. However, they did not have a valid medical qualifications.

Based on a complaint from Pune Municipal Corporation’s zonal medical officer Dr Rekha Galande, an FIR has been registered at Vimantal police station against Shahrukh Haider Shah and Chaitali Mhaske, both residents of Vadgaonsheri, and Panchshila Shendge of Ramwadi.

Police said that head constable Nagesh Singh Kunwar had received a tip-off about the illegal clinic. Accordingly, a joint team of the Crime Branch, PMC health department and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) raided the clinic after verifying the facts. Police have seized scheduled H drug and equipment required for hair transplant.

Police Inspector Jayant Rajurkar said that the accused pretended as hair transplant expert doctors and duped customers of lakhs of rupees by playing with their lives.

The accused have been arrested for offences under sections 420 (cheating), 406 (criminal breach of trust), 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and relevant sections of the Maharashtra Medical Practitioners Rules.

The investigation was carried out under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ramnath Pokle, DCP (Crime) Shriniwas Ghadge, ACP (Crime 2) Laxman Borate.

The team included Police Inspector Jayant Rajurkar, Assistant Police Inspector Shobha Kshirsagar, Police Sub Inspector Jaideep Patil, and police personnel Mahendra Pawar, Rajas Shaikh, Datta Fulsundar, Sanjay Adhari and Sagar Waghmare.
