Pune : Illegal LPG Cylinders Refilling Racket Busted, One Arrested
Chikhali 21st Sept 2023: The Pimpri Chinchwad Police have arrested a person from Chikhali area of the city and have busted a racket of illegal LPG cylinders refilling in the city. A case in this regard has been registered at Chikhali Police Station in the matter.
According to police, the officials of the Chikhali Police Station raided a place in the Aherwadi area of Cikhali on Wednesday at around 2 pm. It was found that the accused identified as Ruturaj Arun Patil (21), a local resident of the area was involved in illegal refilling of LPG cylinders into small cylinders. The refilled cylinders were loaded into a tempo vehicle to sell them in the black market.
The police have seized cylinders worth Rs 2,10,750 from the spot and a case under sections 379, 420 and 275 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) along with other relevant sections of the relevant acts. Further investigation in the matter is underway.
