Pune, 23rd March 2023: Illegal rooftop pubs operating in Koregaon park, Camp and Kalyani nagar have come under scrutiny by the Shiv Sena party, which has demanded strict action against nightclubs that are causing disturbance to the residents.

These nightclubs play loud music beyond 10 pm, creating a lot of noise pollution and traffic chaos in residential areas. Though rooftop restaurants are illegal in residential areas, they are still operating without any objections raised by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).

Shiv Sena has come out in support of the residents and taken a strong stand against the illegal rooftop pubs in residential areas, demanding strict action from Pune Police Commissioner Retesh Kumaarr.

The party has also raised concerns about the hiring of DJs, which is banned in the area, but many of these restaurants have hired them. The usage of drugs and the safety of women have also come under question due to these illegal pubs operating until 5 am. The residents have expressed their anger towards the PMC, which has not addressed their concerns about their lives being made miserable due to these illegal pubs operating in the residential areas.

The continuous honking of vehicles leaving these restaurants throughout the night creates a disturbance in sleep, leading to health hazards such as high blood pressure, anxiety, and depression, especially for senior citizens, and a negative impact on the growth and learning abilities of children.
