Kondhwa, 23rd March 2023: A meeting was held yesterday at Kondhwa Police Station in the presence of the Additional Commissioner of Police to discuss the traffic congestion issues in the area. As citizens go outside for shopping in the evening, there is a rush of vehicles on the roads leading to Fakri Hills Chowk, Mayfair Chowk, and Sarvodaya Colony Chowk, among others.

To avoid the said traffic congestion, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic Branch) Vijay Kumar Magar has issued orders for traffic diversion on a pilot basis, except for essential service vehicles such as fire brigade and ambulance from March 24 to April 22, 2023.

During the holy month of Ramzan, people are expected to come out in large numbers to food stalls in Kausarbaug area.

The traffic diversion plan includes prohibiting all traffic going from Jyoti Hotel Chowk to Kamela and Salunke Vihar from turning right Fakhri Hills Chowk. Instead, the said vehicles will take a U-turn from Lullanagar Chowk to Kamela and Salunke Vihar. Heavy traffic taking a left turn from Jyoti Hotel Chowk to Pargenagar via Mayfair Junction will also be prohibited from doing so, and will go straight to Pargenagar via Jyoti Hotel Chowk and Shital Chowk. Additionally, heavy traffic from Pargenagar to Jyoti Hotel via Mayfair Junction will be stopped and will go to Jyoti Hotel via Pargenagar and Shital Chowk.

The traffic diversion plan is expected to help traffic run safely and smoothly and avoid traffic congestion. The order will be reviewed after a month to determine its effectiveness.
