Illegal Vendors, Structures Cleared on JM Road, FC Road

Shivajinagar, 14th February 2026: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) carried out an anti-encroachment drive in the Shivajinagar–Ghole Road ward office jurisdiction, covering the stretch from Bal Gandharva Chowk to Deccan and Dnyaneshwar Paduka Chowk.

The action was conducted in the presence of Deputy Commissioner of the Anti-Encroachment Department Somnath Bankar, corporators Pooja Jagtap, Mehetre and Apoorva Khade, along with officials and staff from the ward office. The operation involved the use of a JCB machine, gas cutters and open trucks, with security provided by the police.

During the drive, encroachments on roads, footpaths, front margins and side margins were removed. Officials targeted unauthorised items placed by commercial establishments in front margins, including chairs, tables, iron grills, hosiery displays, handcarts and refrigerators. Action was also taken against illegal roadside vendors operating on roads and pavements.

Civic officials said approximately five truckloads of materials were seized during the operation. Temporary and permanent sheds and kiosks erected in front and side margins were also dismantled.
