Pune: Implementation Of Rules Results In Traffic Congestion At Solapur Highway
Manjari, 14th May 2023: The newly elected office bearers of the Haveli Bazaar Committee have started implementing certain rules. The committee has detained the commercial vehicles entering the Annasaheb Magar sub market before the market starts today. Due to this, there was a huge traffic jam on Solapur highway today (May 14).
In this market with direct farmer-to-consumer features, before the market started, only farmer vehicles were allowed to enter, but it is seen that businessmen along with commercial vehicles, are entering the market. Therefore, the vehicles of farmers and consumers do not get a parking spot in the market.
Many traders come to the market in advance and buy goods from farmers and sell the same goods again at a higher price. Also, many farmers’ materials are stolen. The administration repeatedly received complaints about it. However, no action was taken on it.
Meanwhile, the farmers also complained to the newly elected board of directors. Taking note of this, the board has stopped commercial vehicles from entering the market from today before the market starts.
Today, due to the sudden closure of commercial vehicles, all these commercial vehicles were crowded on the highway outside the Market Committee. Due to this crowd, the traffic towards the city and Solapur was greatly affected. Passengers were angry that they had to suffer from the heat due to the traffic in the hot sun.
Dilip Kalbhor, Chairman, Haveli Bazar Committee said, “The concept of this market is farmer-to-consumer. Therefore, farmers and consumers are given priority in this place. Traders should not encroach here. Care should be taken to ensure that traffic is not obstructed. It has been seen that the farmers are suffering from the traders here during the two-three-day inspection.”
Vijay Ghule, Divisional Officer, Annasaheb Magar Sub-Market informed, “There is an amenity space of PMRDA behind the sub-market. A space has been requested for a parking lot there. If that space is available, the big problem of the parking space will be solved.”
