Pune: Inaugural Sri Krishna Janmashtami Utsav In Undri Dazzles Despite Heavy Rain
Undri, 4th September 2023: Undeterred by heavy rainfall, a vast congregation of devoted attendees converged at The Corinthians Club and Resort for the inaugural Sri Krishna Janmashtami Utsav on Saturday. With over 500 residents hailing from Undri, NIBM, and Nyati County in attendance, the festival proved to be a resounding success.
The event was masterminded by the Undri Gita Rahasya team, a dynamic group of ISKCON Pune devotees renowned for their Sunday classes dedicated to the study of the Bhagvad Gita and its practical applications. The festivities commenced with soul-stirring bhajans, an abhishek ceremony for Lord Krishna and Radha, and an enlightening discourse on the profound teachings of the Bhagvad Gita.
A captivating medley of cultural performances ensued, leaving the audience enraptured. “Sankirtanam: The Rock Band,” an exuberant assembly of devotees fervently spreading the message of bhakti through music, initiated the proceedings with a fusion of devotional songs and contemporary melodies, prompting the audience to dance and sing along with gusto.
The young talents of Undri Gita Samskar kids mesmerized everyone with an enthralling dance drama depicting the Dashavatar and Chitchor Gopal. Noopur Dance Academy enthralled the audience with splendid kathak performances, while the cultural program culminated in a riveting Mridanga performance by the children.
The Maha arti brought everyone to their feet, concluding the event on a spiritually uplifting note, followed by a delectable Prasad dinner for all attendees.
