Pune, 19th July 2024: More than a month has passed since the results of the Lok Sabha elections. Since then, every party has started preparing for the upcoming Legislative Assembly Elections in Maharashtra by organizing tours and meetings. Incumbent MLAs and those interested in contesting have begun holding meetings in their respective constituencies, including the Parvati Legislative Assembly of Pune.

MLA Madhuri Misal from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been elected three times consecutively and is targeting a fourth term in the upcoming elections. However, Shrinath Bhimale, a close aide of Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, has posted on social media saying “will fight and will win.” This has sparked serious discussions in the political circles of Pune.

Shrinath Bhimale said, “I have been working in politics for the past 30 years. I have completed every responsibility given by the party till now. Due to that, I became a corporator three times in the Market Yard area and worked as the Pune Municipal Corporation’s Leader of the House. From that position, I brought many projects to the Parvati Constituency. Along with that, in the last Lok Sabha election, Murlidhar Mohol got elected by a big margin. In that, the Parvati Constituency gave him the most lead. In every Legislative Assembly election held until now, I have expressed my wish to contest to the party’s high command. I was ordered to wait every time. But this time, they will give me this chance. That is why I posted ‘will fight and will win’ on Instagram.”

On this, Parvati BJP MLA Madhuri Misal stated, “When I contested from Parvati, I didn’t think I could win. But after that, Parvati had corporators being elected. When the farm is seen as fertile, everyone wants it. When the farm is a desert, everyone ignores it. It’s fixed that I will fight from Parvati.”
