Pune: Indian Army Engineers Airlifted to Flood Affected Nagpur

Pune, August 31, 2020: With the torrential rains leading to flood in several tehsils of Nagpur district, a well trained and equipped Engineer Task Force from the Engineer Regiment at College of Military Engineering (CME), Dapodi, was airlifted overnight to Nagpur by the Indian Air Force (IAF).

“It’s noteworthy that the Sappers from CME, Pune have got rich experience in executing rescue and relief operations as they were instrumental in saving more than 11000 people during the Kerala floods in 2018 and Maharashtra floods in 2019. In view of COVID-19 pandemic, the challenges of flood rescue operations have increased manifold”, Army said.

The Task Force has commenced rescue operations in village Ambhora of tehsil Kuhi in Nagpur district.
