Pune: Industries Minister Uday Samant Pushes For Swift Resolution Of Hinjawadi IT Park Issues; Directs Officials To Take Immediate Steps

Hinjawadi, 25th December 2024: Maharashtra Industries Minister Uday Samant has directed officials to take immediate steps to address the pending infrastructure issues in Hinjawadi IT Park. The move comes after delays caused by the Assembly Elections model code of conduct, which had slowed down various development projects in the region.
Infrastructure projects, including road widening, flyovers, and solid waste management systems, remain incomplete in the Hinjawadi area. In June, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar had reviewed these issues and instructed divisional commissioners to take action to resolve them. While some proposals gained momentum, progress stalled during the election period.
To revive the pace of these projects, Samant held a meeting on Tuesday with the Hinjawadi Industries Association and officials from the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC). Attendees included MIDC Chief Engineer Nitin Wankhede, Regional Officer Archana Pathare, and representatives from various industry associations.
During the meeting, 17 critical issues raised by the Hinjawadi Industries Association were reviewed, including alternative road development, construction of flyovers, and waste management projects. Samant assured the attendees that he would personally follow up with the Chief Minister on matters requiring attention from the Chief Minister’s Office.
The meeting also addressed infrastructure concerns in the Pimpri-Chinchwad industrial area. Sandeep Belsare, representing the Pimpri-Chinchwad Small Industries Association, highlighted the pending proposals for a separate fire station and a common Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) for the area. Responding to these concerns, Samant instructed the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Commissioner to expedite these projects.
Samant’s directives have raised hopes among IT companies and industries in the region, as they anticipate accelerated progress on essential infrastructure projects that are critical for seamless operations and growth.
