Pune: Industries Minister Uday Samant’s Round Table Meeting With German Ambassador And Companies

Pune, 29th November 2022: Maharashtra Industries Minister Uday Samant assured that the industrial policy is being made more attractive than any other state for investment in the state and the necessary facilities and concessions will be provided to German companies for expansion and setting up new projects.

 

Samant was speaking at the bilateral meeting held in a round table meeting held at Hotel Conrad with representatives of German companies and Dr Philip Ackermann, Ambassador of Germany to India. Consul General of Germany in Mumbai Ekim Fabig, CEO of Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation Dr Vipin Sharma, Indo-German Chamber of Commerce Director General Stefan Halusa along with representatives of German companies were present at the said meeting.

 

 

Samant said foreign investors will be welcomed through a ‘red carpet’ for employment growth in the state. The investors will be given all kinds of support from the state government. German companies currently in Pune will be given all support for expansion and new companies in terms of land, water, infrastructure, subsidies, concessions, etc, he added further.

 

An excellent single window system will be implemented for the approval of companies’ projects and other ancillary matters. Samant also expected that the companies should play a major role in local employment generation here.

 

Samant further said that in the next 15 days, a meeting will be held with the officials of the Ministry of Energy and Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd (MSEDCL) to resolve the electricity problems of the companies. In that company, wise electricity problems will be reviewed and all efforts will be made to solve them. Instructions are being given to the police and related departments to solve local problems including traffic jams and roads.

 

Expressing happiness that there are 350 German companies in Pune, the Industries Minister said, considering the limitations of the ‘Land Bank’ at Chakan, Talegaon in Pune district, industries should also consider investing in places like Nashik, Aurangabad-Auric City, etc. Samant further informed that industrially excellent infrastructure has been created in these cities too, said Samant said.

 

Expressing contentment that more and more investments are being welcomed from Maharashtra, the Ambassador of Germany Ackermann stated that German companies have a large share in foreign investment in Maharashtra. “Companies in other sectors including automobile manufacturing, and spare parts manufacturing companies also have a large investment here.”

 

He also said that further efforts will be made by German companies for more investment in the state.

 

On this occasion, the representatives of the companies made some suggestions for the expansion of the industry, to which Samant promised to discuss immediate as well as long-term measures to find a way out.
