Pune: Accidents Increase In Pimpri-Chinchwad Due To Potholes And Bad Condition Of Roads

Pimpri, 29th November 2022: Due to bad roads in Pimpri-Chinchwad city, the number of accidents has increased. Three children have died in different road accidents. However, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC). It is also seen that the traffic police do not take it seriously.
Niranjan Hirve (17) was involved in an accident on Saturday (November 26) at Pooram Chowk at Pimple Gurav. He was coming home on his bike when he met with an accident on the road. He died during treatment.
A schoolboy Atharva Ravindra Alane (11) died in an accident in Chinchwad Shahunagar on November 24. He was leaving for school with his mother. Atharva died on the spot when his mother’s bike was hit by a car near the old Regional Transport Office (RTO). According to residents, the accident happened due to bad roads.
A 2-year-old child Venkatesh Shankar Dokde died due to road potholes in Kasarwadi on October 29. Here, the road was dug up for a month, and municipal officials had neglected this dangerous road. Due to this, the Dokde family complained that the bad condition of the road was the reason for Venkatesh’s death.
Small accidents occur in the city every day. Roads are dug up for various reasons and are not filled in time, which results in such accidents. Citizens complain that despite being aware of this situation, the officials of the traffic police and concerned departments of PCMC are not taking necessary action.
