Pune: Infant Drowned In Boiling Water By Mother’s Boyfriend
Chakan, 24th April 2023: The idyllic peace of Shelpimpalgaon village in Khed taluka of Pune district was shattered on April 6th by a horrific and heartbreaking incident.
A one-and-a-half-year-old baby, the child of a local woman and her secret lover, was drowned in a bucket of boiling water. The infant was taken to a private hospital where, despite the best efforts of medical professionals, he passed away after fifteen days of treatment.
The accused, Vikram Sharad Kolekar of Koyli Village, is still at large. The victim’s mother, understandably distraught, has lodged a complaint with Chakan police station under Pimpri Chinchwad police. A case has been registered against the perpetrator who, at the time of writing, has not yet been apprehended.
According to police, the accused killed the baby in a fit of rage following a dispute over the nature of his relationship with the victim’s mother.
The facts of the case are grim and deeply disturbing. On the day of the incident, the accused had gone to visit his girlfriend. Her sister, who was present at the time, left the house to answer a phone call. It was then that the accused drowned the innocent baby in a bucket of boiling water in the bathroom. The baby suffered severe burns to his hands, feet, head, and back. The accused then threatened to strangle his girlfriend and her sister, warning them not to disclose the incident to anyone.
The infant’s anguished cries alerted his aunt, who rushed to his aid. The accused then threatened her, warning her to remain silent. The baby was immediately taken to a private hospital, where his condition was critical.
The mother, devastated by her child’s injuries, lodged a complaint with the Chakan police, who are currently searching for the accused.
The police have revealed that the mother and accused were in a relationship, but she had repeatedly told him to return to his wife and live an honorable life. The accused, it is alleged, took the life of his lover’s baby when she refused to have physical relations with him. The victim’s mother, who is married and estranged from her husband, has been left shattered by the horrific incident.
