Pune, 24th April 2023: The city is currently experiencing an unusual weather phenomenon, according to meteorological officials, who attribute the moisture incursion from the Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea as well as a low-pressure system between the Vidarbha region and southern Tamil Nadu as the cause.

On April 19, the temperature in Shivajinagar was 40 degrees Celsius, while Lohegaon recorded a scorching 40.7 degrees Celsius. However, over the past few days, the city’s temperature has remained normal.

Despite this, on Sunday, Shivajinagar and Lohegaon saw a maximum temperature of 36.1 degrees Celsius and 36.4 degrees Celsius, respectively, which is below the normal range by 21 degrees Celsius and 1.6 degrees Celsius.

According to IMD officials, Pune city is expected to receive very light rainfall in some isolated areas, which will help to keep the day’s temperature below normal. The Vidarbha region, including Chandrapur and Bramhpuri, will experience below-normal temperatures due to the unusual weather conditions in the area.

Nagpur’s temperature is currently 35.3 degrees Celsius, which is below normal by 6.2 Celsius. Wardha and Yavatmal, on the other hand, recorded temperatures of 37 degrees Celsius and 36.5 degrees Celsius, respectively, which were below normal by 4.7 degrees Celsius and 4.4 degrees Celsius.

Despite these lower temperatures, it is important to stay vigilant and take precautions during this unusual weather event.
