Pune: Inquiry To Be Conducted Against PSI Zende By Pimpri Chinchwad Police Over Rs 1.5 Crore Dream11 Win
Pimpri Chinchwad, 11th October 2023: PSI Somnath Zende is set to face an internal investigation concerning both administrative and legal issues. Deputy Commissioner of Police, Swapna Gore, has been assigned to lead the inquiry. The investigation was initiated due to allegations that Zende participated in Dream11 while on duty. Action if any will be taken after inquiry.
PSI Somnath Zende is a member of the Riot Control Police (RCP) and is stationed at the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Headquarters. Known for his avid interest in cricket, Zende has been a regular participant in online cricket matches on the Dream11 platform. However, his recent participation has raised questions, prompting an official inquiry.
On October 10th, Zende entered a Dream11 contest featuring a match between Bangladesh and England. He won a prize of Rs 1.5 crore in the competition. The police department will now conduct an inquiry to scrutinize the circumstances under which he participated in the Dream11 contest.
