Pimpri, 11th October 2023: The 41st anniversary of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation was celebrated with enthusiasm, marking four decades of dedicated service to the community. On this momentous occasion, officers and employees came together to participate in various cultural and sports programs, while also contributing to a noble cause by actively participating in a blood donation camp.

The festivities commence with the felicitation of a key figure in Pimpri Chinchwad’s history, the late Annasaheb Magar, revered as the architect of the city. The statue of Annasaheb Magar was honoured in a ceremony graced by MLA Mahesh Landge and Commissioner Shekhar Singh. The main administrative building of the Municipal Corporation in Pimpri served as the stage for this tribute, attended by a gathering of municipal officials, employees, and citizens alike.

In the morning session, a blood donation camp took centre stage within the Municipal Corporation’s premises. The camp was inaugurated by Commissioner Shekhar Singh, who took the opportunity to appeal to the officers and employees of the Municipal Corporation to contribute to this noble cause. He underscored the significance of a single drop of blood in saving a life, encouraging everyone to participate.

As part of the celebration, a diverse array of games and cultural events were organized for the officers and employees. A spirited tug-of-war competition was held in the morning, pitting the officers against the employees. The staff team put up a commendable fight, but it was the officers who emerged victorious, with Additional Commissioner Pradeep Jambhale Patil leading the officer’s team as captain. MLA Mahesh Landge and Commissioner Shekhar Singh presided over the match as referees. Following this, a lively musical chair competition engaged both male and female officers and employees.

Amidst the festivities, a special program known as “Khel Paithani” was organized for women. The event included activities such as cooking, fancy dress, and Rangoli competitions. The main administrative building of the Municipal Corporation was adorned with an alluring garden, thoughtfully created by combining various trees and embellished with attractive flowers, further enhanced by vibrant electric lighting.
