Pune, 11th November 2024: Inteva Products LLC, a global leader in automotive systems and components, has announced a $3.3 million expansion of its manufacturing facility in Chakan, Pune. This significant investment will enhance production capabilities and operational efficiency as the company aims to meet the increasing demand within India’s fast-growing automotive sector.

The expansion project will increase the plant’s production area by 70%, bringing it to a total of 85,000 square feet. Additionally, the facility will gain 26,000 square feet of office space, supporting new production lines for window regulators, latches, and window regulator motor assemblies. These improvements will enable Inteva to better serve its existing customers while strengthening supply chain support in India.

The expansion is expected to create 100 new jobs in Pune, boosting local employment and contributing to the region’s economic development. This move aligns with India’s focus on self-reliance in the manufacturing sector, reflecting Inteva’s long-term commitment to the region. The company’s investment highlights its belief in India’s potential as a key global automotive manufacturing hub.

“This expansion reflects Inteva’s ongoing commitment to the Indian market, which plays a critical role in our global growth strategy,” said Gerard Roose, President and CEO of Inteva Products. “As the demand for high-quality automotive components continues to rise, we are proud to expand our capacity to better serve our customers while creating valuable job opportunities locally.”

Inteva’s Pune facility currently manufactures essential components such as side door latches, liftgate latches, window regulators, and motors for window regulators, supplying major Indian automakers like Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Motors, Stellantis, Volkswagen, Hyundai, MG Motors, and Force Motors. The plant also plays a key role in the global supply chain, exporting window regulator motors to markets in South Africa and North America.

“With this expansion, we are enhancing our ability to deliver high-quality, localized automotive components that meet the evolving needs of our customers,” said Sanjay Kataria, Vice President and Managing Director of Inteva India. “Our investment in advanced manufacturing here in Pune underscores our commitment to innovation and excellence.”
