Pune: iPhones Among Stolen Valuables Worth Rs 11.68 Lakh Recovered By Pimpri Chinchwad Police

Pimpri Chinchwad, 14th November 2023: The Anti-Robbery Squad of the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Crime Branch has arrested two persons involved in the theft of high-value mobile phones from a local shop.

The accused, identified as Kaleem Hussain Ansari (33) and Firoz Naeem Khan (33), were arrested in connection with the incident that occurred on September 29 at the Classic Communication mobile shop in Bhosari.

According to the police, the accused gained access to the mobile shop by cutting through the bar on the terrace. The stolen valuables included 27 expensive mobile phones from renowned brands such as Apple and Samsung, totaling a value of Rs 11,68,270. A case has been registered under IPC sections 454, 457, 380, and 34 at the Bhosari police station.

Police Constable Sumit Deokar played a pivotal role in the investigation, providing crucial information that led to the identification and subsequent arrest of the accused. Following a two-day operation, the anti-robbery squad located and detained the suspects in the Kurla Mumbai area, as revealed by a detailed technical analysis.

During the interrogation, Firoz Khan confessed to stealing the phones under the instructions of Kaleem Ansari. Khan further admitted to selling the stolen phones, leading the authorities to recover the pilfered goods. The investigation is ongoing under the supervision of Sub-Inspector Bharat Gosavi.

The successful operation was executed under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Swapna Gore, Assistant Commissioner of Police Balasaheb Kopnar and Senior Police Inspector Santosh Patil. The team included Assistant Police Inspector Ambarish Deshmukh, Police Sub-Inspector Bharat Gosavi, and police personnel Mahesh Khande, Nitin Lokhande, Sumit Deokar, Ganesh Hinge, Pravin Kamble, Ashish Bankar, Ganesh Kokne, Ganesh Sawant, Vinod Veer, Vikrant Gaikwad, Sagar Shedge, Mali and Hulge.
