Pune, 27th March 2025: A shocking case has come to light in the jurisdiction of Kalepadal Police Station, Pune, where a young female IT engineer was subjected to gang rape and financial extortion.
According to the information received, the victim hails from Karnataka and works as an IT engineer in a reputed company in Pune. In 2021, she became acquainted with the accused, Tamim Harsalla Khan, through Facebook. Khan gained her trust by claiming that his father owned a large construction business. Their acquaintance grew over time, and he lured her into meeting him with promises of marriage.
Their meeting took place at Fab Hotel in Kandivali, Mumbai. Their acquaintance developed into a relationship. Subsequently, the accused manipulated her under the pretext of marriage and trapped her. During her stay at the hotel, the accused spiked her soft drink with sedatives and sexually raped her.
Later, the accused brought her to Pune in his car and assaulted her again. The horror didn’t stop there. Tamim called three of his friends, who also gang-raped the victim. The accused also deceived her by flaunting luxury cars – Range Rover, Mercedes, and Porsche – to appear wealthy and gain her confidence.
To further exploit the victim financially, the accused took nude photographs of her and used them to threaten her. She gave him ₹10 lakh under pressure. Later, they coerced her into taking loans under false pretenses of starting a business, extorting a total of ₹30 lakh and 2 iPhones. When she demanded her money back, she was brutally beaten.
A case has been registered at Kalepadal Police Station against Tamim Harsalla Khan and his three accomplices, and further investigation is underway.
