Pune: Jain Community In Lonavala Organise Protest By Closing Shops, Businesses

Lonavala, 21st December 2022: Today, Jains across the nation observed a one-day bandh in protest of the Jharkhand government’s proposal to turn Shri Sammed Shikharji, one of the most important Jain pilgrimage sites in the nation, into an eco-tourism destination.

In support of this bandh, the union leaders of Lonavla, Khandala, and Valvan decided to keep all shops and businesses closed until this afternoon. They also conducted a silent march.
