Ghorpadi, 9th December 2024: A dramatic robbery unfolded on Sunday night when a jeweller’s shop owner was attacked and looted at gunpoint at Arihant Jewellers on B.T. Kavade Road, Ghorpadi. Around 8:30 pm, three unidentified individuals on a bike entered the shop, threatened the owner with a firearm, and executed the heist.

The robbers sprayed pepper spray into the shop owner’s eyes, further intimidating him before beating him with a stick. They then looted the shop and fled the scene on their bike at high speed.

The jeweller immediately alerted the Wanawadi police about the incident. Senior police officials responded swiftly, cordoning off the area to track down the perpetrators. A team from the Crime Branch also arrived at the scene to initiate an investigation.

Authorities have retrieved CCTV footage from the vicinity to identify the suspects. However, the exact value of the stolen jewellery has not yet been disclosed.

This incident bears striking similarities to a robbery that occurred a year ago on B.T. Kavade Road. In that case, a jeweller and his son were ambushed at gunpoint in the Sayyadnagar area of Hadapsar while returning home after closing their shop. The assailants looted their jewellery and fled.
