Pune: Joint Indian Army-CISF Training at Pune’s Aundh Military Station Enhances Operational Readiness

Aundh, 24th January 2026: In a significant step towards integrated national security preparedness, the Indian Army has commenced a specialised training programme for Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel at Aundh Military Station under the Southern Command. The training, now at its midpoint, aims to strengthen tactical capabilities and operational readiness across critical security domains.

The programme, designed for CISF unit STR 102, includes two officers and ten female personnel, and places a particular emphasis on Quick Reaction Team (QRT) drills. The curriculum has been tailored to address contemporary security challenges, enhance counter-terrorism response, and validate QRT protocols for internal security contingencies.

The intensive module covers QRT drill refinement, junior leadership development, combat medic skills, fire prevention, bomb/IED disposal, specialized techniques such as slithering, and hostage rescue operations. The first week of training has already witnessed significant progress, with personnel demonstrating marked improvement in response times, coordination, and tactical decision-making under pressure.

Indian Army instructors have employed hands-on training methods to ensure effective knowledge transfer, enabling CISF personnel to internalize procedures critical to safeguarding vital installations and strategic infrastructure nationwide.

As the programme enters its final week, training will focus on advanced scenario-based exercises, validation drills, and certification assessments to ensure participants return to their operational duties with enhanced competence, confidence, and tactical capability.

This initiative underscores the Indian Army’s commitment to professional excellence and collaborative capacity-building, reinforcing the security of strategic assets and contributing to a robust national security framework.
