Pune: Journalist Shashikant Warishe Murder Case Investigation In Right Direction – Director General Of Police

Pune, 15th February 2023: Director General of Police Rajnish Seth told reporters on Wednesday that the investigation into the murder case of journalist Shashikant Warishe from Ratnagiri is going in the right direction and a special investigation team has been formed to trace the criminals.

Union Home Minister has announced the best investigation medal to the police officers and investigation team who have solved serious crimes. 43 police officers who investigated serious crimes in the state between 2018 and 2021 have received medals. The medal was presented by the Director General of Police Rajnish Seth.

State Crime Investigation Department (CID) Additional Director General of Police Prashant Burde, Police Commissioner Retesh Kumaarr, Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissioner Vinay Kumar Chaubey, Additional Director General of Police Sunil Ramanand, Special Inspector General of Police Suresh Kumar Mekhla, Sudhir Hiremath, etc were present on this occasion

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted in the murder case of journalist Shashikant Warishe. A suspect has been arrested in this case. Seth mentioned that the investigation is going on properly under the guidance of Superintendent of Police, Ratnagiri.

Efforts are being made by the police to control crime in the state. Some guidelines have been given to the police to punish the accused for serious crimes. Instructions have been given to strictly implement the rules to ensure maximum punishment to the accused.

“Investigation of crimes plays an important role in police work,” Seth said that if maximum punishment is given to the accused for solving serious crimes, the trust of complainants and citizens in the police will increase.
