Pune, August 24, 2020: Appreciating the Jumbo COVID Care Centre was built in such a short time, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, on Sunday, hoped that too many Punekars would not have to use it. He was speaking while inaugurating this new 800-bed COVID care facility at the College of Engineering Pune (COEP), online. He also appealed to the Punekars to continue taking all the necessary precautions that they are taking to prevent the outbreak of COVID-19.

“Use masks regularly, and keep washing your hands,” Thackeray said. The facility will be open to the public from Tuesday onward.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Chief Minister and Pune’s Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar said, “Our primary obligation is to provide the best possible healthcare to all our citizens, and that is the objective of Jumbo COVID Care Centre. This hospital will facilitate immediate treatment, and will help people from Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad and Pune rural. Several organisations worldover are working hard to prepare a vaccine on COVID, and we pray that they get success soon.”

Thackeray also added that while Ganeshotsav, one of the most important festivals in the state, is being celebrated with simplicity this year, he hoped that Lord Ganesh will take all the problems away.
