Kalyani Nagar, 25th February 2026: An awareness drive focusing on noise pollution, traffic discipline and civic responsibility was organised on 25 February 2026 at 3 pm in Kalyani Nagar, ahead of World Hearing Day to be observed on March 3.

The initiative was conducted in association with Corporator Yogesh Mulik and local representatives Monica Sharma, Yasmin Charania and Haresh Bharwani. The session was held at Cerebrum IT Park B1 and B2 in Kalyani Nagar, which houses 23 IT companies.

A key highlight of the programme was the presence and active participation of Sangeeta Jadhav, Traffic Incharge of Yerwada, along with her traffic enforcement team. Addressing employees and management representatives, she spoke in detail about traffic discipline, helmet compliance, illegal parking, modified silencers and honking violations. She assured strict enforcement and continuous monitoring to ensure adherence to traffic and civic regulations in the area.

As part of the World Hearing Day initiative, the session underscored the serious health impacts of noise pollution. Experts highlighted that prolonged exposure to high noise levels can lead to hearing loss and tinnitus, increased stress and anxiety, sleep disturbances, hypertension and long-term cardiovascular risks.

Residents expressed concern over the growing use of modified silencers, unnecessary honking and late-night disturbances in and around the IT park. They emphasised that noise pollution should be treated as a public health issue rather than merely an inconvenience.

The drive also addressed broader civic concerns, including littering and irresponsible garbage disposal, hygiene and sanitation issues around commercial establishments, traffic congestion, rule violations and road blockages. Speakers stressed the urgent need for improved civic sense and disciplined public behaviour.

IT employees and management were urged to encourage responsible commuting, strict adherence to traffic and noise regulations, and active participation in maintaining cleanliness around workplace premises.

Officials assured coordinated monitoring and stronger enforcement against violations. The organising group reiterated its commitment to sustained awareness initiatives and collaborative efforts to ensure a cleaner, safer and healthier Kalyani Nagar.
