Katraj, 23rd October 2026: Residents of Katraj faced back-to-back water cuts this week as the ongoing rotational supply shutdown and a citywide water cut on Thursday disrupted supplies in the area.

Water supply from the Vadgaon water centre was suspended on Thursday for the installation of a flow meter on a pipeline, leaving residents in areas already scheduled for a rotational shutdown on Wednesday or Friday without water for two consecutive days.

The additional disruption caused inconvenience to residents already grappling with water cuts amid drought-related restrictions and road-widening work on the Katraj-Kondhwa road.

The Pune Municipal Corporation’s water supply department had earlier clarified that areas dependent on the Vadgaon water centre would continue to face only one scheduled shutdown a week, rather than a blanket Thursday shutdown.

Water supply department head Nandkumar Jagtap said Thursday’s suspension was necessary to install the flow meter. He added that the existing rotational schedule would continue and water supply would remain operational on Thursdays henceforth.
