Pune: Kondhwa, Yewalewadi Residents Face Water Crisis; NCP Corporator Warns of Protest
Pune, 23rd October 2026: NCP corporator Rakesh Kamathe has given the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) 48 hours to restore regular water supply in Kondhwa Budruk and Yewalewadi, warning of a protest march to the civic headquarters with residents carrying pots if the problem is not resolved.
Residents of Kondhwa Budruk gaothan, Kapilnagar, Ambedkarnagar, Yewalewadi, Gokulnagar, Laxminagar and Sainagar have been facing inadequate and erratic water supply, forcing them to buy water from private tankers at higher rates.
Kamathe met PMC water supply department head Nandkishor Jagtap and submitted a memorandum seeking an immediate resolution, regular supply at adequate pressure and free water tankers until the situation returns to normal.
“It is a serious concern that residents of my ward have to pay for water, a basic necessity. The PMC must restore regular supply within 48 hours and provide free tankers until then. If timely action is not taken, we will take residents to the civic headquarters for a protest carrying water pots,” Kamathe said.
Jagtap assured Kamathe that the department would take the necessary action.
