Mundhwa, 12th May 2025: The situation in Keshav Nagar, Mundhwa, continues to worsen due to delayed infrastructure projects and ineffective rule implementations, according to local residents. The new one-way rule, enforced by Pune traffic police and Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), has only added to the congestion and frustration in the area, particularly on Renuka Mata Mandir Road.

For years, the much-needed road widening and encroachment removal in Keshav Nagar have been pending, despite repeated promises from the PMC. These unresolved issues have significantly impacted traffic flow, but the recent enforcement of the one-way rule has made the situation even more chaotic, with roads that were once empty now often jammed, even during off-peak hours.

Residents and commuters have expressed their frustration, citing the lack of progress on vital infrastructure work, including the much-awaited Keshav Nagar-Amanora underbridge. “The PMC has failed to deliver on crucial projects that would ease the traffic situation. Instead of focusing on road expansion and solving the encroachment issues, they seem to be only thinking of alternative rules to shift the blame,” said a local resident.

The delay in removing encroachments and widening key roads is further compounded by the ongoing bridge work, which remains incomplete due to a lack of initiative and interest from the authorities. The lack of an alternative route in the area has exacerbated the problem, with residents now facing increased traffic snarls.

The local community has repeatedly raised concerns about the lack of long-term planning from the PMC, and many are questioning the efficacy of the new traffic rules. “This one-way rule is just another attempt to mask the real issues. We’ve been waiting for years for the promised infrastructure improvements, but nothing is happening. It’s becoming harder to commute every day,” another frustrated local added.

As Keshav Nagar’s residents continue to deal with the daily gridlock, the plea for meaningful action on road widening, encroachment removal, and bridge work grows louder.
