Pune, 12th May 2025: Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has begun the admission process for nearly 1,300 undergraduate seats across its main campus, subcentres, and affiliated departments. With the Class XII results now declared, aspiring students can apply for a wide range of first-year UG courses, especially in science and technology streams.

Admissions for these courses will include an online entrance test, scheduled for May 15, university officials said.
Dr. Parag Kalkar, Pro-Vice Chancellor of SPPU, urged students to explore opportunities across the university’s main campus and its associated colleges. “We have launched the undergraduate admission process for various programmes. The entrance exam will be held online on May 15 for select courses,” Kalkar stated.
The university is offering three-year, four-year, and five-year integrated undergraduate programmes for the academic year 2025–26. The online entrance test will apply only to those programmes that have received more applications than the number of available seats.

Admissions to other courses that do not require an entrance exam will be handled separately. Details for these will be made available on the university’s official website, according to a circular issued by Munjaji Rasve, Deputy Registrar of Academic Admissions.

Meanwhile, several prominent city colleges have already initiated their own admission cycles following the board exam results, with merit lists expected by mid to late May. However, students and parents are showing growing interest in direct undergraduate admissions offered at the university’s departments.

The first phase of SPPU’s UG admissions is already live, and aspirants are encouraged to check course-specific details on the official website. Entrance exam results will also be announced online shortly after the test is conducted, the university confirmed.
