Pune: Keshavnagar-Kharadi Flyover Ready for Traffic, Inauguration on August 16
Pune, 14th August 2026: The Keshavnagar-Kharadi flyover, a key infrastructure project aimed at easing traffic congestion in the Keshavnagar-Mundhwa-Kharadi area, will be inaugurated on Sunday, August 16, the Pune Municipal Corporation announced on Friday.
The inauguration ceremony will be held at 4 pm near Godrej Infinity at the Keshavnagar-Kharadi bridge in Keshavnagar, Mundhwa.
Union Minister of State for Cooperation and Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol will inaugurate the flyover. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister and Pune district guardian minister Sunetra Ajit Pawar, Higher and Technical Education, Textiles and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Chandrakant Patil, and Minister of State for Urban Development, Transport, Social Justice, Medical Education and Minority Development Madhuri Misal will be present.
Pune Mayor Manjusha Deepak Nagpure and Pune Municipal Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram, along with other elected representatives and officials will also attend the event.
The flyover is around 411.40 metres long and 24 metres wide, with seven spans of 35.2 metres each. The approach road on the Kharadi side is 40 metres long, while the Keshavnagar-side approach road is 125 metres long. Two-way traffic will operate on the flyover.
The project had a tender value of Rs 23.47 crore, of which around Rs 23 crore has been spent so far. The construction has been completed and the flyover is ready to be opened to traffic.
The flyover is expected to eliminate an additional six-km journey for vehicles travelling from Keshavnagar towards Kharadi and help ease congestion on the bypass road.
Civic officials said the project is also expected to reduce travel time, fuel consumption and air and noise pollution. Commuters are expected to save around 30 minutes on the journey, providing smoother connectivity between Keshavnagar, Kharadi and surrounding areas.
