Pune: Khadakwasla Dam Area Faces Encroachment, MLA Suggests Public Park
Khadakwasla, 25th March 2023: MLA Bhimrao Tapkir has brought attention to the encroachment of vacant land in the Khadakwasla dam area and suggested that a playground be constructed in its place. The issue was raised during the last day of the budget session of the Legislative Assembly through the issue of justification.
The Water Resources Department owns a large amount of vacant land on the side of the Khadakwasla Dam near the catchment area. However, the area is currently being encroached upon. If properly planned, the location could house a garden, playground, and jogging track that could be used by both villagers and city dwellers.
The suggestion was made to the government through the issue of propriety, and it could lead to the development of the land for public use.
