Pune: Khadakwasla Dam full, discharges 500 cusecs water in Mutha river

Pune, August 12, 2020: After the Khadakwasla Dam was filled to its full capacity this afternoon, the dam has opened shutters to discharge cusecs of water into the Mutha river. The water has been released from the dam for the first time this year.

The Khadakwasla Dam was filled upto 100 percent by Wednesday afternoon. The dam has a capacity of 1.98 TMC. It gets water from three other dams of Pune – Panshet, Varasgaon and Temghar.

Presently, Panshet Dam is 62 percent full, Warasgaon Dam is 58 percent full, and Temghar Dam is filled at 78 percent of its capacity. The total water content of four dams is 64.52 percent.
