Khadakwasla, 5th June 2025: Khadakwasla Dam and its surrounding villages witnessed a significant downpour over the past 11 hours, recording 41 millimeters of rainfall. The intense showers drenched the neighboring villages throughout the day, but the story was different for other major reservoirs in the region.

While Khadakwasla experienced substantial precipitation, Panshet and Varasgaon dams saw much less rainfall. Panshet’s catchment area received only 5 millimeters in the same 11-hour window, and Varasgaon saw a mere 6 millimeters. However, the Temghar dam area reported no rainfall at all during this period.

As of this evening, Khadakwasla Dam’s water stock stands at 0.75 TMC (thousand million cubic feet), which is 38.22% of its capacity. Since 1st June, the dam has received a total of 71 millimeters of rain. Panshet Dam currently holds 1.80 TMC (16.87% capacity), with 29 millimeters of rain since the start of the month. Varasgaon Dam’s reserves are at 2.76 TMC (21.56% capacity), having collected 32 millimeters since 1st June. Temghar Dam, however, has only 0.18 TMC (4.89% capacity) despite 41 millimeters of rain since 1st June, none of which fell today.

Despite the uneven rainfall, the Khadakwasla dam chain as a whole now holds 5.50 TMC (18.86% capacity), which is about 1 TMC more than last year on the same date, when it was at 4.56 TMC (15.66% capacity). This marks a positive increase in overall water storage compared to the previous year. Notably, while Khadakwasla and nearby villages experienced heavy rain, Sinhagad and Temghar saw little to no rain.
