Pune: Kirana Gharana Library and Resource Centre To Be Inaugurated On September 13

Pune, 7th September 2022: Legendary vocalist and Padma Vibhushan awardee ‘Swarayoginee’ Dr Prabha Atre, the senior-most representative of the Kirana Gharana, will be entering her 91st year on September 13. On the occasion, a ‘Kirana Gharana Library and Resource Centre’, established at Swarmayee Gurukul, will be formally inaugurated.

 

The inaugural function will be attended by Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal, Mumbai’s president Dr Vikas Kashalkar, its vice-president Pt Pandurang Mukhade, Sangit Kala Vihar magazine editor Sudhakar Chavan, Dr Bharathi M.D., Hon Secretary of Dr Prabha Atre Foundation and Program Director of Swarmayee Gurukul Prasad Bhadsawale.

 

Also during the inauguration ceremony, a special edition of ‘Sangit Kala Vihar’ magazine – Swarayoginee, published by the Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal, Mumbai, will be released.

The magazine dedicated to Dr Atre documents her multidimensional persona and her contribution to Indian music.
