Against this backdrop, the inspection of Kaas Plateau by senior officers of PMPML in Satara was reported on Tuesday (September 6). PMPML intends to start e-bus service on Satara to Kaas Plateau route. An official decision will be announced soon.

There is a huge crowd of tourists to see Kaas Plateau near Satara. Tourist vehicles are disturbing the natural beauty of the place. Increasing pollution due to vehicles is becoming a headache for the administration. To avoid this, the Tourism Department of the Maharashtra state has proposed to start the e-bus service of PMPML. As Tourism Minister Mangalprabhat Lodha himself is keen to start the service, the PMPML has been asked to inspect the area immediately and report on it.

Accordingly, senior officials of PMPML rushed to Kaas Plateau on Tuesday. A report on this will be given soon. The biggest issue with this is going to be the charging station. The PMPML service of Sinhagad Fort was suspended because of the charging station and big buses.

Four buses have been reserved for this purpose and so far around 800 senior citizens have benefited from it. Free tea and breakfast were provided by the tourism department. This bus service got a good response. It will conclude on Wednesday.

“How feasible is it to start e-bus service to Kaas Plateau, the report will be submitted to the seniors after inspection and a decision will be taken only after that,” said Dattatreya Zende, Chief Transport Manager, PMPML, Pune.
