Pune, 25th October 2021: The 15th edition of the Kirloskar Vasundhara International Film Festival (KVIFF) will be telecast online from 14th to 17th December 2021.

A new festival logo along with the first theme teaser was released today at the hands of Arti Kirloskar (Convener). Madhav Chandrachud (Chairman), Dr Gurudas Nulkar (Curator) and Virendra Chitrav (Festival Director) were also present on the occasion.

KVIFF was initiated 14 years ago by Kirloskar and Vasundhara Club. It is one and only one festival of its kind in India, which combines film screenings and different allied activities related to the environment, wildlife, energy, air, water.

“The festival is an innovative attempt to explore nature and analyse topical issues related to the environment. It presents an opportunity to evolve a common platform to work towards providing effective and meaningful communication material for preserving our great natural heritage”, Chitrav said.

KVIFF travelled to around 30 cities from 7 states till today and more than 250 festivals have been organized. The last festival was organized from 3rd to 7th Jan 2020. Unfortunately, activities throughout the world got hampered due to the Corona pandemic from the month of March. Streets were deserted, institutions were vacant and crowds vanished.

“After the lockdowns, life is slowly coming to normal. Kirloskar Vasundhara intends to convert this challenging situation into an opportunity for change. Hence, we decided to hold this year’s 15th KVIFF Online going Global”, Kirloskar informed.

This year’s festival theme is ‘Nutritious Food, Flourishing Nature and Healthy Society’.

“COVID 19 is the new predator on the prowl. As novel diseases enter human systems with an alarming frequency, it is time that we examine the state of our food systems and the health of our planet. Are degraded ecosystems and reduced biodiversity connected to the rise of new pathogens? Is our food providing adequate immunity? Every epidemic cripples human society and weakens the economy. Thus, the question we seek to answer is – How can humanity preclude such events in the future?

Kirloskar Vasundhara intends to investigate the relationship between degradation of nature, weakened immunity within human beings and the supply of nutrition from our food systems”, Chandrachud added.

Festival Highlights: It will be a four days festival ( 14th to 17th Dec.) with daily 4.30 hours schedule.

Daily telecast between 11 am to 3.30 pm (IST)
