Pune-Kolkata flight takes 12 hours, passengers horrified

Pune, January 6, 2020: About 162 passengers traveling from Pune to Kolkata via GoAir were stranded at Bhubaneswar Airport for about nine hours and afrer three hours delay at the Pune airport earlier.

The passengers had boarded the aircraft at Pune airport at 10.30 pm but they were deboarded. Later the flight took off at 1.30 am Monday and instead of Kolkata they landed in Bhubaneshwar at 4.40 am. From there, a flight departed for Kolkata at around 1:30 pm. The passengers alleged that they were not provided proper facilities.

GoAir issued a media statement, “GoAir flight G8 394 from Pune to Kolkata was diverted to Bhubaneswar due to bad weather in Kolkata. The flight then landed safely with 162 passengers onboard the aircraft in Bhubaneswar. All passengers were deplaned and transferred to the terminal, and offered refreshments during the delay.”

“However, this was aggravated with Flight Duty Time Limitation (FDTL) of the crew which led to a further delay in departure from Bhubaneswar. GoAir sincerely regrets any inconvenience caused to its passengers”, it further added.
