Pune Kondhwa Drug Bust: 2 Held with 2.5kg Ganja, 43 Alleged Buyers Detained
Kondhwa, 20th August 2026: The Anti-Narcotics Task Force detained two alleged ganja sellers and seized around 2.5kg of ganja during an operation in Kondhwa.
The operation also led to the detention of 43 people who had allegedly gathered at the spot to purchase ganja, triggering concern over the extent of the illegal drug trade in the area.
The accused have been identified as Ganesh Patole, who police said was involved in selling narcotics, and Ajju Ahmed Sheikh. Around 2.5kg of ganja was recovered from them.
Police are questioning the 43 detained individuals to establish their links with the alleged sellers, the reasons for purchasing the drug and their role in the suspected network.
The large number of alleged buyers detained in a single operation has raised questions about the scale of ganja sales in Kondhwa. The Anti-Narcotics Task Force is conducting further investigation and is likely to gather more information about the network.
