Pune: Kondhwa Police Constable, Assistant Police Inspector Caught Taking Bribe Of Rs 50,000 To Help In Case Of Domestic Violence

Pune, 21st October 2022: A case has been registered against the assistant police inspector and police constable of Kondhwa police station who demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000 not to arrest parents to assist in criminal charges in domestic violence cases.

 

A case has been registered against Assistant Police Inspector Harshada Balasaheb Dagade and Constable Abhijit Vitthal Palke under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act. A case has been registered after a 27-year-old youth lodged a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).

 

 

A case has been registered against the complainants and their families in the case of domestic violence. Dagade and Constable were demanding bribes from them to help the complainants in the charge sheet of the crime and not to arrest their mother, father and sister. He had complained about this to ACB.

 

After verification of the complaint by ACB on September 28, it was found that a bribe of Rs 50,000 was demanded as a settlement. Therefore, on the complaint of ACB, a case has been registered against both of them and both have absconded.
