Pune: Kondhwa Police Recovers Seven Stolen Bikes, Two Persons Arrested

Kondhwa, 19th January 2024: The detection branch of Kondhwa Police Station has recovered seven stolen two-wheelers.

Acting on a tip-off received by Constable Vishal Memane, two individuals were caught selling stolen bikes near Aajicha Dhaba Hotel on the road leading to Bopdev Ghat.

Subsequent investigations confirmed that the two-wheelers in their possession were indeed stolen. The suspects were identified as Saurabh Venkatarao More (23), a native of Latur district, and Suryapratap Gandharva Singh Kushwaha (23), a native of Madhya Pradesh.

Senior Police Inspector Santosh Sonawane, in-charge of Kondhwa police station, said that More and Kushwaha were involved in five additional instances of vehicle theft, ultimately leading to the recovery of seven stolen vehicles. A total number of 7 crimes were registered across multiple Police Stations, including Kondhwa Police Station (2 cases), Chakan Police Station (1 case), Mahalunge Police Station (3 cases), and Sinhagad Road Police Station (1 case), have been solved.

This successful operation was carried out under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone – 5) R Raja, and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Wanowrie division) Shahurav Salve. The team included Police Inspector (Crime) Sandeep Bhosle, Assistant Police Inspectors Dinesh Kumar Patil, Lekhaji Shinde, and police personnel Vishal Memane, Satish Chavan, Nilesh Desai, Lavesh Shinde, Shahid Shaikh, Santosh Bansude and Laxman Holkar.
