Pune: Koregaon Park – South Main Road Residents’ Demand for City Bus Service Finally Met

Koregaon Park, 1st December 2023: The persistent demand of residents from South Main Road, Kavadevadi, Miranagar, etc., in Koregaon Park for the resumption of PMPML bus service has finally been addressed. Numerous residents and public representatives had advocated for this service, and after concerted efforts, the bus service from this area commenced on a trial basis starting December 1, 2023. Bus route number 160, operating from Shaniwar Wada to Mundhwa, Manjari Budruk, has been rerouted to include Saint Mira’s College, Sant Gadge Maharaj School, Shahu Modak Garden, Kawdewadi, and Mira Nagar.

The inauguration of the bus service on this route took place today, with Vithalrao Vandekar Foundation President Dhairyashil Vandekar cutting the ribbon. Vandekar expressed gratitude to social worker Nilesh Mantri on behalf of the citizens for his persistent efforts in initiating the bus service. He emphasized that this service will greatly benefit residents, students, and workers in areas such as Rajiv Gandhi Vasahat, Sant Gadge Maharaj Vasahat, Darode Mala, Madari Vasti, Kavdevadi, etc. Vandekar urged residents to ensure a positive response to the newly started bus service so that it continues uninterrupted in the future.

Present at the inauguration were corporators Manglatai Mantri, social worker Nilesh Mantri, Prakash Mantri, Narendra Darode, Mauli Darwadkar, Aaba Kawade, Santosh Mate, Gode, Anizia D’Souza, along with local residents. Representing PMPML were Chandrashekhar Kadam, Sunil Darge, and Vijay More. The driver of the bus was Barikrao Borate, and the conductor was Manoj Gaikwad.
