Kothrud, 10th June 2021: Lawyers, social activists and residents of Kothrud are opposing the shifting of the office of joint sub-registrar from Kothrud. At present, the office is at Ishani Apartment on Paud Road. The plan is to shift that to the Hingane area.

In this regard, a request letter has been given to Joint District Registrar, MLA and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Maharashtra Chief Chandrakant Patil, Pune Mayor Murlidhar Mohol, and to the local corporators.

“This office is beneficial to the citizens of the Kothrud and Bavdhan area. The office has been set up here for 18 years and it is the only office for the citizens in the locality. Earandwane has two offices while Warje and Mhatre Bridge has one each. Therefore, we do not want this office to be shifted to some other place,” said a lawyer requesting anonymity.
