Pune: Lady Officer Of Military Intelligence Dies By Suicide, Police Investigation On

Pune, 13th October 2021: A 43-year-old woman Army officer allegedly died by suicide at the Military Intelligence Training School and Depot (MITSD) near Command Hospital in Wanowrie. The incident came to light today morning.
The deceased, a Lt Colonel rank officer, hailed from Uttarakhand and was in Pune for training for the last three months.
According to officials, her husband is also a Colonel rank officer. There was a dispute between the couple and they have filed a divorce application.
After getting information, officials from Pune police’s Wanowrie police station visited the spot. Police said that investigation is going and preliminary enquiry has revealed that she died by suicide.
In a statement issued, Army authorities have said that “an incident of likely suicide by an officer has occurred in the premises of Military Intelligence Training School and Depot, Pune. The officer was undergoing a course in the Military Intelligence Training School and Depot, Pune. A case with the civil police has been registered and the matter is under investigation. Army is providing all assistance in the case investigation.”
The Military Intelligence Training School and Depot is a premier institution of the Indian Army for imparting training in intelligence and security aspects for all ranks.
