Pune: Leopard Captured After Roaming Chakan’s Bustling Market For Five hours
Chakan, 15th February 2023: Residents in the town of Chakan, near Pune, Maharashtra were in panic after a leopard was spotted roaming the busy market area. Local authorities quickly sprang into action and a five-hour search and rescue operation was launched to capture the animal.
After the intense operation, the leopard was successfully captured using a trap cage and tranquilizer darts. The wild animal was unharmed and was taken to a rescue center for a medical examination before being released back into the wild.
This incident highlights the increasing incidents of human-wildlife conflict in the region, prompting authorities to evaluate measures to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.
