Pune, 15th February 2023: Several industries in Pune have filed complaints against mathadi workers for various reasons. The workers, who are responsible for loading and unloading goods in the city’s markets, have been accused of several wrongdoings, including demanding bribes, indulging in theft, and causing disruptions in the supply chain.

According to sources, at least ten industries in Pune have filed formal complaints against mathadi workers with the labor commissioner’s office. The industries have alleged that the workers have been creating hurdles in their business operations and causing losses to them.

The complaints state that the mathadi workers demand money from the industries for unloading and loading their goods, even though they are supposed to charge a fixed rate as per the agreement. The workers are also accused of stealing goods and causing damage to the goods during the unloading process.

In addition, the industries have claimed that the workers often go on strike without any prior notice, disrupting the supply chain and causing delays in deliveries. This has led to financial losses for the industries, especially those that deal with perishable goods.

The labor commissioner’s office has assured the industries that it will take appropriate action against the mathadi workers if the complaints are found to be true. The industries have demanded that the workers be held accountable for their actions and that steps be taken to ensure that such incidents do not happen in the future.
