Pune: Leopard Cub Dies In Collision With Unknown Vehicle On Belhe-Jejuri Highway
Shirur, 27th January 2023: On the Pargaon – Belhe to Jejuri Highway, Loni Taluka Ambegaon to Pabal, a one-year-old leopard cub has been killed after being hit by an unknown vehicle on the outskirts of Shirur village at around 8 pm on Thursday.
On the Belhe to Jejuri highway near Thapewadi on the border of Loni and Pabal villages last night around 8.00 pm, a leopard cub was seriously injured after being hit by an unknown vehicle. After getting the information that he was lying on the road in an injured state, Ganesh Pawar, forest ranger of Pimparkhed division, Rishikesh Lad, forest guard of Kavathe division, Saimala Gitte, forest guard of Lakhangaon division immediately went to the spot with the help of villagers and took the injured leopard to the Manikdoh Leopard Shelter Center for treatment.
But Manohar Mhasekar, forest range officer of Shirur, said that the leopard died before the treatment was started.
