Pune: Lightning Kills 19-Year-Old Girl In Ambegaon Taluka

Pune, 10th October 2021: A 19-year-old girl Meera Lohkare was killed by lightning in Ambegaon tehsil on Saturday, 9th October. She was returning home after finishing college along with her father. Her father sustained minor injuries.

Meera and her family live in Khadaki village in Ambegaon tehsil. She was studying at Annasaheb Awate college in Manchar. Her father Sakharam Lohkare is a postman.

The incident took place when they were returning home on Saturday evening. The road was broken for some distance, therefore Meera got down from the bike while her father drove the bike. At the same time, lightning fell on Meera and she died on the spot. Her father who was at a close distance got injured in this incident.

Meera was taken to the Sub-district hospital in Manchar where she was declared brought dead.
